Jamaica
Tropical paradise. Cruise ships. Glitz and glamour. All-inclusive resorts. That is our typical, and very ignorant, view of Jamaica. In reality, if one were to step outside of the bubble of elitism, one would see a nation 146 miles long and 51 miles wide, just over the distance of Washington DC to Philadelphia in length and half the distance of Philadelphia to New York City. Yet in that space reside tens of thousands of children in institutionalized centers due to violence, abuse, addiction, or having lost their parent(s).
Since 2005, Ignite International has partnered with the Jamaica Basketball Federation and values-based entities who empower the marginalized next generation toward a purposeful future. We have taken volleyball and basketball trips and have impacted thousands of lives across this beautiful island. There is hope in spite of the reality of Jamaica's heaviness. You can help us ignite hope for Jamaica.
